Lab Manual for the Eureka Program 2017 by the University of Massachusetts  – Amherst
Instructors: Anna Symington, Elizabeth Daniele, Karen Dunphy, Joseph Jerry, and Laura Vandenberg

This lab manual was developed for the Eureka Program in conjunction with Girls Inc. The outline of the program is as follows:
  • Day 1: Introduction to cancer and breast cancer and how to measure things
  • Day 2: Measuring estrogens by ELISA and discussion of xenoestrogens in personal care products
  • Day 3: ELISA part 2 and discussion of “How small is a picogram?”
  • Day 4: Effects of estrogens (evaluating whole mounts and H&E tissue sections)
