The Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Program (BCERP) builds on the experience of the Centers (BCERC) and has an expanded reach into understanding the influence of the environment in puberty (Puberty Study) with associated Community Outreach and Translation Cores (COTCs), Windows of Susceptibility (WOS) – the concept that individuals are more susceptible to exposure at particular developmental periods – that also includes Community Partners (CP) and the Coordinating Center (CC) at the University of California, San Francisco Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Network Management

The BCERP network is governed by a Steering Committee comprised of the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Coordinating Center, and representative investigators, outreach experts, and community partners from across the program. The Steering Committee monitors and assesses progress of the partnerships, determines the need for redirection in order to accommodate new knowledge, and recommends new opportunities and directions for the BCERP.
